FORTINET\*\*\*\* autocorrect omg
So this is for my personal brokerage, I have separate retirement accounts.
I own 10 stocks of PANW and 10 of Fortinet.
I am current up 70% for PANW (cost basis $183) and 62 for fortinet ($97).
I only started investing about 2.5 years ago. These were stocks that were a bit “riskier” but to help diversify.
I have about 9K in VTI (25 shares) and 12K spread across mag7 (NVDA, GOOGL, APPL, and AMAZ). I have some other risky stocks but those I’m holding on for now.
Part of me knows investing is a long haul, these are great cybersecurity companies, etc. I bought these stocks bc I do believe in them. I don’t own enough where selling might make sense in case they do continue to grow etc. If I sell them, I already lose a small position.
On the other hand, I don’t own enough where it makes sense to keep it than rake in the gains. I would not want to buy more at the current prices. The only real way to “lock in gains” is actually selling it. I would reinvest into VTI or the others at least. I don’t think the growth is sustainable.
I just want some perspectives from others. I’m didn’t want to make this too long but am open to sharing more details.
