Just found out CME is going 24/7. Does this mean the CME gap meme is officially dead?

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading up a lot on market structures lately, and it looks like a massive change is quietly happening under the hood that might kill one of crypto’s oldest trading memes: **The CME Gap.**

For those who don't know, because the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) traditional markets close over weekends while Bitcoin keeps trading 24/7, we always used to get those crazy price gaps on Monday mornings. There’s a whole subculture of traders who literally base their entire strategy on "filling the CME gap."

Well, it looks like CME is finally launching **24/7 Bitcoin futures trading**.

Honestly, as someone trying to understand the real mechanisms behind crypto liquidity, this feels like a huge milestone. Here are a few things on my mind about this:

* **No More Weekend Downtime:** The entire mechanism that creates these gaps is just... going away. No more waking up on Monday morning to see Bitcoin gapped up or down $3k overnight.
* **TradFI vs. Crypto Native:** The gap between traditional finance infrastructure and crypto-native platforms (like MEXC Market, which already runs 24/7) is officially closing. TradFI is finally adapting to the reality that crypto doesn't sleep.
* **The "Unresolved" Gaps:** Funnily enough, there are still three unresolved gaps sitting out there right now. Are gap hunters sweating trying to fill them before the new system fully kicks in?

It feels like one of those changes that seems small on the surface, but it's basically retiring a multi-year trading strategy overnight.

For the more experienced traders here: How do you think this alters weekend volatility? Will we see volume smooth out, or will this just shift liquidity somewhere else?
