Well folks, I’ve decided I’m going to sell all of my AMZN, META, and MSFT, and buy however much VUG that’ll get me. My portfolio is doing well at the moment, and I’ve decided to walk away from the risks associated with heavy positions in individual stocks. Another part of the reasoning is that I would like to own more of the significant holdings in VUG (NVDA, AAPL, GOOGL, etc.) but my limited portfolio funds don’t allow me to take positions in all of these other companies.
I did some comparisons of price of VUG when I bought these Individual stocks that I’m essentially ‘trading’ for VUG at today’s prices, and am not losing anything there. In other words, if I purchased VUG rather than purchasing AMZN, META, and MSFT when I had originally purchased them, I’m actually getting slightly more VUG for my money at today’s prices. Has anyone else just decided enough is enough with individual stock picking and converted to ETFs?
