I bought 18 stocks in the past year or so, out of which, AMD, Moderna and BRKR have been the best performing picks so far.
Coursera, STZ, and JD have been my worst-performing picks so far, each down about 20–30%. Even so, my portfolio excluding index funds is still up around 20% YTD.
We’ll see how things look in 3–5 years. This is really a test of my stock-picking ability.
BRK.B has also been a disappointment so far, up only about 5%.
If my portfolio underperforms the S&P 500 over the next 3–5 years, I’ll probably give up on stock picking and just invest in index funds going forward.
For context, about 50% of my portfolio is currently invested outside of index funds.
