As Buffett said, I started with A's and went through companies one by one. After 8 years of doing it, I built a tool for it.
For the last 8 years, outside my day job, I've been going through companies one by one — country by country, index by index, starting with the A's. The way Buffett described doing it with the Moody's manuals.
The data piled up. Notes everywhere, research I'd redo because I forgot I'd already looked at a company. What actually helped me was building checklists — a kill checklist to discard a company fast, and a deeper one for the names that survived. That structure changed everything.
So I built a research platform around that idea. Market sweeps (A→Z through an index), customizable checklists, research journals, and an AI layer that reads your own history to surface patterns you might miss. It uses your own data — nothing leaves your machine.
I've open-sourced the whole thing. Self-host with Docker, bring your own AI key, no account needed.

Full disclosure: I built this and it's still actively in development — expect rough edges. Passion project, not a business. Would love feedback — especially on how you structure your own research process.
