CZ calling EU's mica deadline "sad" is the funniest spin I have seen all week

i just read CZ's reply to that liquidity tweet three times trying to figure out what he was actually arguing,he said "Liquidity is the best consumer protection." Sure. Consumer protection from what exactly, the protection of being able to withdraw your funds from a platform that admitted it cant get licensed?

and why is nobody in the replies is saying about how binance didnt lose access because the eu woke up one day and decided liquidity is bad, they lost it because they pulled their own greek application six days before the deadline, after regulators reportedly raised AML and governance concerns which is a we knew we werent passing story.

Calling a failed license application a sad day for users instead of what it actually is ( Binance failing to clear a bar that kraken and bitpanda already cleared). Bitpanda's had its mica license for a while now, which is probably why you are not seeing their users post screenshots of withdrawal instruction emails this week.

I get the liquidity argument has some truth to it in the abstract , fragmented eu liquidity across smaller licensed venues isnt nothing but thats an argument for why MiCA fragmentation has tradeoffs.

Anyone else think this gets spun as "EU bad for crypto" ?
