Low-IQ Investment Strategies for Clean Energy Transition

Hi,

I just started investing a few months ago (inherited an IRA brokerage thing, roughly $40k, planning to add a little from every paycheck) and I don't really know anything about investing. I work in energy, so I have a fair understanding of the nuts and bolts side of that sector, and I suspect it's a pretty safe medium or long term bet that solar + storage, wind, and nuclear market share is going to keep increasing against fossils, but I don't know how to translate that into what positions to take. I read a previous post here which seemed to imply that renewables stocks would actually go down as solar/wind resources proliferate.

I am wondering - what would be a logical way to capitalize on the energy transition? I am trying mostly to figure out a long term strategy because I am neither capable nor smart enough to do a whole bunch of rapid trading every day. Thanks very much for any help you can give!
