Hello all,
I'm genuinely interested in hearing from traders who scalp options regularly.
Before risking real money, I spent about four months paper trading and only started trading live this week. I've developed a specific set of rules for entries, exits, position sizing, and risk management, and I stick to them pretty strictly.
My focus is exclusively on SPX and QQQ, trading both calls and puts. Nearly all of my trades have been 0DTE or 1DTE scalps.
**Current Results (First 4 Live Trading Days)**
* Trading Days: 4
* Total Trades: 96
* Net Profit: +$2,080.46
* Win Rate: 83.3%
* Average Profit Per Day: +$520.12
I know four days is a very small sample size, so I'm not claiming I've figured anything out. I'm more interested in learning from traders who have been doing this successfully for months or years.
A few questions:
* Is an 83% win rate within the normal range for experienced scalpers?
* What metrics do you track besides P&L and win rate?
* What mistakes did you make early on that I should watch out for?
* Are there any simple strategies, setups, or risk-management techniques that improved your consistency?
I'm not looking for shortcuts—just ideas and concepts I can research and potentially incorporate into my own trading plan.
Appreciate any feedback.
