Accidentally sent ETH from Kraken to an X Layer WETH contract address on Ethereum mainnet. Is recovery possible?

Hi everyone, I need some advice about a mistaken ETH withdrawal.

I withdrew ETH from Kraken using the Ethereum mainnet network, but I accidentally entered this address as the recipient:

0x5a77f1443d16ee5761d310e38b62f77f726bc71c

This address appears to be the WETH contract address on X Layer:

[https://www.oklink.com/zh-hans/x-layer/evm/address/0x5a77f1443d16ee5761d310e38b62f77f726bc71c](https://www.oklink.com/zh-hans/x-layer/evm/address/0x5a77f1443d16ee5761d310e38b62f77f726bc71c)

However, my withdrawal happened on Ethereum mainnet, not on X Layer. On Ethereum mainnet, the ETH was sent to the same 0x address:

Transaction hash:

0x35074db2a8859e291312b898fb91fb86531a239e4dcb925c3aa47d7a724d7387

Amount received on-chain:

about 0.07670166 ETH

Kraken says the withdrawal is completed. OKX Exchange support said the address does not belong to OKX Exchange. OKX Wallet support said I need to contact the token/project team, but I am not sure who maintains the X Layer WETH contract or whether the same address on Ethereum mainnet is controlled by anyone.

My questions:

1. Is this ETH recoverable in any realistic way?

2. Who would be the correct team to contact: X Layer, OKX Web3, WETH maintainers, or someone else?

3. Since the Ethereum mainnet address seems to have no outgoing transactions, does that mean nobody controls it?

4. Is there any official X Layer / OKX Web3 channel that can confirm whether this address is recoverable?

I understand that Ethereum transactions cannot be reversed. I am only trying to identify whether the Ethereum mainnet address is controlled by the X Layer/WETH deployer or any official team.

Please do not DM me with “recovery services.” I will not share seed phrases, private keys, wallet approvals, or pay any upfront recovery fee.

Thanks for any technical advice.
