What's new?
On June 9, Coherent signed a Letter of Intent with the Department of Commerce for $50 million under the CHIPS Act to expand InP. It seems like the whole market missed this memo because there is so much damn shit going on BUT I DID NOT. Why do I care?
**Coherent's PMT was signed December 2024. The money arrived June 2026.** Wolfspeed's PMT was signed October 2024. We are now at 20 months and counting.
We can draw one of two conclusions. One: WOLF's money is never coming OR ITS ABOUT TO FUCKING COME. Read the president's truths (eww) about how proud he is of Intel and why. He is gonna take so much fucking credit for wolfspeed OMG.
And the other thing you all missed. On June 1 GE Aerospace qualified the High-Voltage Power Controller (HVPC) and Unidirectional Converter (UDC) for US military ground vehicles. Co-developed with the Army's engineering lab. Initial production starting this year.
One week later, June 8, GE signs an MOU directly with Wolfspeed for supply of the 10kV SiC MOSFET that goes inside those units.
Remember the DPA money? "Power control electronics is essential to national defense" ?Now WOLF is supplying a 10kV part to the LITERAL military. You couldn't make this shit up. I AM YELLING AGAIN, WOLFSPEED IS ABOUT TO GET SO MUCH FUCKING GOVERNMENT MONEY!!!!!!
The dominoes that have fallen for those who have been following (insert screenshot from one of my favourite movies ever)
**March 26:** WOLF files an 8-K saying DOE and CHIPS Program Office get priority over existing debt holders for Siler City.
**April 20:** PDs signed. "Power control electronics" designated essential to national defense.
**June 4:** DOE writes $700M using the other DPA PDs signed on April 20.
**June 8:** GE signs MOU with WOLF, explicitly cites US Government/military priorities.
**June 9:** Coherent's CHIPS money arrives, having signed their PMT right around the same time as WOLF.
This company is regarded. But they have accidentally found themselves in the middle of a FUCKING GOLDMINE.
If you buy this shit, strap TF in we are either going to zero or the moon.

As promised I added to this after a drop. Sitting on 1500 shares and 55 calls/leaps. Could have waited for the bigger dip (didn't expect the SemiAnalysis 180) but who TF cares. If this ever gets the same AI infra 30x CY29 multiple that everything else is fucking trading at then this will be a rounding error.
