Hey fellow Bogleheads,
Like most of you, I’m a pretty disciplined indexer: broad market ETFs, low costs, stay the course, the whole nine yards. But every once in a while I like to take a tiny slice of “stupid money” (money I’m fully prepared to lose) and roll the dice on something fun/speculative.
This time it was allocating a bit to the SpaceX IPO through RH (I just set it up for the IPO price ). Curious if any other Bogleheads did the same?
Also, I’ve seen a ton of complaints about partial fulfillments. It seems like an ocean of people only got one share (or a tiny fraction of what they requested). I’d rather get a smaller chance at full (or closer-to-full) allocation at the IPO price rather than guaranteed tiny partials. Anyone else feel that way, or am I thinking about it wrong? I had read somewhere that they did this purposely so that retail investors would be less inclined to sell if they only have just a few shares.
Would love to hear thoughts from the community, and whether the partial fill situation left a bad taste in anyone’s mouth.
Thanks!
