i came from more of a stock market mindset, and the biggest adjustment in crypto hasn’t really been the charts.
it’s the fact that there is no clear end of day.
with stocks, even when price action gets ugly, the market still gives you a forced pause. you can close the app, think overnight, and come back when the next session opens.
crypto doesn’t really give you that. it keeps moving at night, on weekends, during holidays, and basically anytime you are trying to do normal life.
at first i thought 24/7 access was just convenient. now i think it changes your behavior more than people admit.
the hard part is not reacting to every move just because the chart is open. a random candle at midnight can feel urgent even when it has nothing to do with your original plan.
i’m trying to create my own “market close” now. after a certain time, no new trades. i can check positions, but i don’t make decisions unless they were already planned earlier.
not saying crypto being 24/7 is good or bad. it’s just a very different mental environment from stocks.
for people who came from stocks or traditional finance, what was the hardest habit to unlearn?
was it weekend volatility, position sizing, sleeping through price moves, or just accepting that there is no real closing bell?
