Space stocks and drone stocks are both pumping right now from all of those sweet, sweet government dollars being pumped in. Why bet on just one side of this when you can get upside exposure to both in the same stock?
Enter Redwire (RDW), the drone + space stock with real revenue in both segments that is still trading at under a $5 billion market cap and <10x P/S.
# Space
Redwire does a lot of space shit that is promising in the future that you can look up if you are interested in actually investing, but the real YOLO level money-maker today on the space side is in-space solar arrays, specifically their roll-out solar array (ROSA) and new lower cost alternative ELSA line.
These product lines boast best-in-class power to mass ratio, 100% mission reliability, superior stowability, and real flight heritage aboard the ISS. They also have real orders from constellations beginning to get scaled out today from the likes of Blue Origin and Moog.
Given their track record and the upcoming wave of spending on lunar infrastructure (they already have a partnership for developing roll-out solar arrays on the lunar surface), various new satellite constellations, and orbital data center buildouts, they are a clear favorite for a pure picks-and-shovels play in the rapidly expanding space industry.
# Drones
They also have combat proven drones already being used in Ukraine and trialed with the US Army and Marine Corps. They keep winning new business primarily because their Stalker and Penguin drones are best in class for their combination of stealth and range.
The reason they are unmatched in these areas (and why they have a significant moat) is their proprietary propane fuel cell technology. That's right, propane, not batteries, which gives them the range of a gas powered drone with the stealth of a battery powered one. The wide availability of propane also has the added benefit of greatly simplifying logistics for units that are deployed.
Their drone lineup has been picking up a lot of momentum lately with major contracts from all over the world and they are uniquely positioned in their niche to capture a significant slice of the rapidly increasing drone spending both in the US and abroad.
