He was murdered by an oppressive empire and abandoned by those closest to Him. He died alone, isolated and lonely. Multiple times, He was told to “save Himself”. A few pages earlier in Mark’s Gospel, Peter tried to start an armed rebellion and after Jesus’ arrest, He was exchanged for Barabbas – an actual insurrectionist against the Roman Empire. </p><p>Let’s talk about that and this attempted assassination supposedly rooted in the <a href="https://komonews.com/news/nation-world/friendly-federal-assassin-read-the-accused-gunmans-cole-tomas-allen-full-manifesto-sent-before-dinner-attack-white-house-correspondents-dinner-shooting-trump-administration-political-violence-secret-service-safety-security">Christian faith</a>. This is important because we are surrounded by people like this young man who decided to take up arms because he could no longer take what he was seeing. </p><div class="digest-post-embed"></div>
