# Thesis
There has been a lot of debate about how realistic orbital data centers are due to issues with thermal management and launch costs. However, as terrestrial data centers continue to experience delays due to construction complexity and growing political backlash, the money has to flow somewhere.
My stance is that is doesn't matter how realistic orbital data centers are.
This market is consistently pricing in narratives before they ever materialize, and AI data centers in space is very likely the next one. Even if an orbital data center never comes online, the market will pump a lot of money in trying to make it a thing to keep the music going once terrestrial data centers are not able to be built fast enough to meet the demand. Just look at recent interviews from the likes of Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Jeff Bezos, etc. They are all telling you what the next wave is going to be ahead of time. Space AI just sounds way too sexy to ignore for the average investor.
This is your chance to get in on that wave before the hype.
# Where I'm investing
Between their ROSA and ELSA product lines, Redwire (RDW) produces the best-in-class solar power and thermal management systems on the market today and is already investing heavily in research for the orbital data center buildout.

The best part is this isn't a pure play lottery ticket where the company's fate is tied to this single tailwind. They also make high performance drones already being used in Ukraine and by the US military, quantum secure satellites, and tons of lunar infrastructure to capture the increased NASA spending to build out a lunar base there.
All of these other revenue streams give you a solid foundation while the orbital data center narrative gives you a free lottery ticket.
# TL;DR
One of the next AI hype waves is going to be AI data centers in space. Redwire (RDW) is already positioning to be the premier picks-and-shovels play for that wave.
