I built a dashboard tracking 100+ Trump announcements from Nov 2024 to May 2026 and exactly how markets reacted in real time.
I got tired of cable news clips and fragmented financial coverage, so I compiled everything into one timeline using Congressional Research Service reports, Federal Register data, market closes, oil prices, and Iran war coverage.
Some wild stats:
• Liberation Day crash (Apr 2025): -10.8% / $6.6T wiped out in 2 days
• Biggest rally: +9.52% after the 90-day tariff pause
• Iran war selloff: -8.3% in Q1 2026
• Oil hit $110/barrel during Hormuz tensions
• Despite everything, markets still ended up +18% overall
• 45% of announcements happened during market hours
The biggest pattern I found: after Liberation Day, markets started assuming Trump would reverse course under pressure. Later tariff threats barely moved markets compared to early 2025.
Other interesting findings:
• Markets rewarded de-escalation more than they punished escalation
• Weekend announcements were usually the biggest stories
• Truth Social increasingly moved markets like official policy
• AI/tech strength basically held the S&P together during the chaos
The site includes:
• Interactive timeline
• Top market-moving events
• Day/time analysis
• Full dataset of all 100+ events
Built with plain HTML/CSS/JS + Chart.js. No frameworks or backend.
No opinions/politics in the project, just data, timestamps, and market reactions.
