Amazon plans to invest up to $25 billion in Anthropic as part of a long-term agreement that will see the AI company spend more than $100 billion on Amazon’s cloud services.
The deal strengthens their partnership as Anthropic scales its AI models using Amazon’s infrastructure and Trainium chips.
Amazon will invest $5 billion upfront, with more tied to milestones, adding to its earlier $8 billion stake. The move comes as Amazon ramps up AI spending and competes with other tech giants, including its separate investment plans in OpenAI.
