I analyzed stocks using 9 different data points at once. The results weren’t what I expected
Hi everyone,
Lately I’ve been trying to improve how I analyze stocks, especially the tendency to rely too much on one or two indicators.
So I started looking at multiple perspectives at once, including:
news sentiment
technical signals
financials
analyst expectations
insider activity
relative performance vs the broader market
dividend data
What I expected was that combining more data would make decisions clearer.
What actually happened was the opposite.
In many cases, the signals don’t align at all.
For example, I saw stocks that looked strong technically, but sentiment was weakening and insiders were selling. In other cases, fundamentals looked solid, but price action and market behavior suggested something was off.
It made me realize that adding more data doesn’t necessarily reduce uncertainty, it just exposes it.
To make this easier, I ended up building a small setup for myself that pulls real data from different sources and organizes everything in one place, with a summary layer on top.
Still figuring out how useful this approach really is.
Curious how you guys handle this:
When signals conflict, what do you prioritize?
Also, if anyone wants, I can share a couple of example analyses or run specific tickers through this approach and compare results.
