SAAS is not oversold. We're just seeing a revaluation of the per-seat model.
>Go saas. All of them are way oversold. Fundamentals haven't changed. Claude is spooking the market.. it remains to be seen any of the concerns will affect any software. Its just speculation.. both ways
This is the top comment from another post titled, "Which of these 10 stocks at a 10-year low P/FCF are you buying?"
How have the fundamentals not changed?
People are too fixate on will Claude/vibe coding replace SaaS. The fundamentals will change, specifically, the seat-based model.
While you can’t "vibe code" an entire SaaS platform yet, you can certainly vibe code enough automation to reduce total headcount that will interact with SaaS (and therefore, seats).
Even SaaS providers will likely offer more automation to stay competitive in the AI age, which again leads to fewer seats.
The industry will eventually shift from a seat-based model to a usage-based one. The massive uncertainty is whether this new model can maintain the same revenue streams, which is exactly what is driving the current revaluation.
Currently software is still a tool for human, however, even in the short future, it will be human controlling AI agents to use the software.
This is exactly what my company is doing. Over the past few months, we’ve been spending more time creating automations than doing the actual work we used to do.
