I'm a fairly experienced investor, but I got shaken by the market in October and sold some stocks at a significant short-term gain. I also had a large windfall from my company in 2025, so unfortunately I am facing a huge tax bill for these stock gains.
Obviously I can't undo the stock sale, but is there anything else I can do to mitigate my pain, or do I just take the L and learn the lesson for next time?
