How low do you thin the S&P 500 will go, and when? (cristal ball anyone?)

Hi

I am new to investing, and I wanted to buy S&P500 for a long time, this looks like the right oportunity to go in. I read all I can, but I a a novice. I relied in the past on my "advisors" and I lost a bit. When everybody else won money. Something so simple as "invest in the S&P500" was too far fetched for these so called advisors. I have found this now on my own. Could the stock go as low as 5900 or lower? I have seen it go down and bounce back quickly. Also I read that it took 8 month of going down and down and down in the past... Currently, this is a going down fast and bounce back.. or is a slow down and down and down ? I know nobody has a cristal ball. But people have more experience than me and I am looking for advice.

I have been saving and saving and away from the stock market. but CD's are a trap. I have lost money over the years to inflation and FED money printing.

Can you tell me what you are doing and why?
