What if it's not TSMC taking a stake in Intel but Intel adopting TSMC as a US based manufacturing moving the entire semiconductor industry to US in return for offering US govt support to Taiwan. TSMC doesn't have a fab in US whereas Intel has state of the art Fabs in US. US won't let Intel fab collapse for national security reasons. It will turn the entire semiconductor industry upside down.
