Softbank is investing in OpenAI by taking a loan from OpenAI and using that money to purchase equity in OpenAI???

I get the circlejerk being borderline unethical but this just beats any fucking sense out the window. Softbank wanted equity in OpenAI but did not have money, so they took a loan from OpenAI and used it to purchase equity in OpenAI. This does not make any fucking sense!!!
