Tariffs rules unconstitutional, inflation higher than expected, GDP growth lower than expected. How to play this?
I would have expected the markets to rip on the news, but they actually started in the red because the GDP data is quite bad, and combined with inflation rising higher than expected is pretty much a nightmare scenario.
Then there’s the uncertainty on whether the tariffs will actually get rolled back. In theory, Trump can convince a Republican-controlled Congress that re-instal them. Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but nothing would surprise me.
Will global stocks go up more? Or the sectors that were hardest hit by tariffs? Or will it become risk on again and tech will rise again?
