I built a “Pelosi Tracker” portfolio based on public disclosures. 1 year update.
About a year ago, I posted a simple idea elsewhere: mirror Nancy Pelosi’s publicly disclosed trades and holdings using a rules-based portfolio. Since then, it has turned into a full project, so I wanted to share a quick 1-year update here.
# The idea
Track congressional stock disclosures and build a simple, repeatable portfolio that mirrors what is publicly filed.
Important context:
* Disclosures can be delayed (often weeks).
* This is not financial advice.
* The goal is transparency and a rules-based approach, not short-term trading.
# What it is today (vs 1 year ago)
Back then, it was basically just one portfolio. Now the platform includes:
* 10+ politicians tracked (both parties)
* Alerts for new filings (email, push, in-app, Discord)
* Custom user portfolios so you can build your own “disclosure-based” strategies
* S&P 500 benchmarking so you can compare performance properly
* STOCK Act compliance signals on filings
* A public website that shows holdings and filing timelines
# How the strategy works (high level)
* Long-only portfolio
* Updates only after a new filing or scheduled tune
The key point is that it mirrors disclosures as they come in; it is not real-time copy trading.
# Pelosi note
Pelosi announced her retirement back in November, but by then the project had already expanded beyond her. The tooling now tracks multiple politicians with the same parsing and rules.
