I'm not gonna pretend I know this is going to move the stock. I know very little about JD frankly. I just saw a tweet with pretty low engagement stating:
"With revenues more than US158.8 billion in 2024, JDcom is China’s largest retailer by revenue JD enters the LLM scene. Well, Alibaba is there, Xiaomi is there, even Meituan and BOSS Zhipin are there, so why not? Might be added to the list of "near frontier" labs."
I can't share the tweet directly due to sub rules... This tweet was in response to someone who appears to be working on AI at JD based on their profile. Profile only has 80 followers. I have no way to verify if these are even legitimate profiles... Stock looks cheap relative to competitors, again this is as surface level as it gets. I haven't dug into the business at all. I just think given the low engagement, maybe this can grab a headline when the model actually becomes available. I have no idea what the timeline is. Apparently they're releasing a flash model first and a larger model at some point this year...
Just sharing to hear other's thoughts. Is this is a nothing burger?
