I have a lot experience in tradfi and I have a question concerning long time shorting opportunities in the crypto market, especially for ex top 20 altcoins.
What tools do you guys use when you want to short on a large time scale ( 1 year for example ) a crypto currency ?
For example perpetual futures are pretty bad because of the funding rate, making some very heavy borrow cost on the long run.
I have been doing research and it seems like Centralized Exchanges that enable crypto borrowing could be a solution, as shorting is just borrowing and selling spot.
I tried the alternative with some DeFi borrowing, but the choice is kind of small ( not that much altcoins can be borrowed with USDC collateral ) and I feel like only centralized counterparties can offer a rather large choice of altcoins to borrow.
I tried many exchanges, a lot of offer in : Binance OKX Bitget and Bybit. OKX looks the most affordable for me, what are your thoughts ? Do you guys have insights or nice plateforms I don't know about ?
Any tips or recommendations on how should I build some long time short positions ?
