Pre-IPO Reverse Split

I'm a global director at a private company with ambitions to IPO soon. I've been at the company for roughly half of its existence and have an option grant of about 4.5 million shares at a strike price of roughly $0.02/share.

We've had substantial growth every year since I joined but I understand there will still be a reverse split before we IPO, per our C team.

I'm quite new to this. How much would a company typically consolidate their shares pre-IPO? I don't know what percentage of total shares I have, which is probably key, but is there a general rule of thumb or range private companies fall into as they prepare to IPO?
