Tesla Begins Domestic Lithium Production at Nation’s Biggest Refinery

Tesla’s Texas lithium refinery is the largest lithium-processing plant in the U.S., according to multiple industry-side confirmations (Metal.com, Industrial Info Resources). It is also the first U.S. refinery capable of producing battery-grade lithium at large scale, with an expected output of \~50 GW hours equivalent once fully ramped. No other U.S. lithium facility currently matches its combination of throughput, scope, and vertically integrated production.
