Many people who sell covered calls will swear they can do better than if they were to buy and hold the underlying stocks, indefinitely. Many wise investors say that strategy works until it doesn't, and it will under perform over many years.
I've outperformed the S&P significantly by selling covered calls over the past few years. I'm tempted to continue but know odds would most likely catch up with me eventually.
