I've been looking into the North American (mostly US) Land Oil and Gas Drilling contracting companies, those that provide rigs to companies drilling for oil and gas. I have identified 4 major companies, those being HP, PTEN, NBR, and PDS. Did I miss any? I know there are companies like SLB, BKR, HAL that are larger and provide many services to the oil and gas industry, but they are not mainly contract drillers.
Looking at HP, PTEN, NBR, and PDS, their total combined market cap is $7.1B and their combined enterprise value is $12.7B. This seema tiny compared to the size of the onshore oil and gas exploration and production industry in the US and Canada.
Any thoughts about this?
