Amundi Launches First Tokenized Euro Money Market Fund on Ethereum

Amundi, Europe largest asset manager, has introduced a tokenized share class for its euro money market fund, marking a first in traditional finance integration with blockchain. This hybrid rollout allows investors to choose between the traditional fund and the blockchain based version recorded directly on Ethereum.

The first transaction was successfully executed on November 4, demonstrating that tokenized shares can coexist alongside traditional structures. The move reflects growing interest in leveraging blockchain for liquidity, transparency, and more flexible trading options.

The rollout was developed with CACEIS, a European asset servicing group, which provided the necessary tokenization infrastructure, investor wallets, and a digital order system to process subscriptions and redemptions. According to the companies, this setup helps streamline operations and widens access to new investor channels.

Tokenization also opens the door to 24/7 trading of traditionally static assets. Investors now have the ability to engage with money market funds in ways previously impossible, potentially increasing efficiency and broadening participation in a historically conservative segment. Platforms like bitget have also been experimenting with copy trading via GetAgent, allowing users to mirror strategies and trade tokenized or onchain assets, providing a parallel example of how blockchain tools are bridging traditional and crypto finance. Always DYOR before participating.

Overall, Amundi’s tokenized fund represents a small but significant step toward integrating conventional finance with blockchain innovation. It’s a reminder that markets are evolving, and both institutional and retail participants are finding new ways to interact with assets.
