Anyone that closely follows Ukraine-Russia conflict knows that even the smallest drones can impose a big threat to tanks, infrastructure and men.
But it seems small defensive drones industry is lagging so much, that DoD is going after micro companies with unproven execution and offering big contracts for them, it has no choice.
Some exemples are volatile stocks like DPRO, UMAC, ONDS, RCAT.
And it's not only the drone itself, its battery ($AMPX), its camera and thermal imaging systems ($LPTH), its wireless connection, it's a full industry that is evolving with desperate government needs that its average market cap is currently around only 1 billion dollars per company.
I do believe there's a lot of room to growth, Trump is aiming to spend 1 trillion in the 2026 defense budget and those drones will certainly be a priority.
