Trying to Make Sense of the $MON Mood Before Launch

I’ve been piecing together everything around Monad and it’s hard not to notice the split mood. On the tech side, it’s a high-performance EVM-compatible Layer 1 hitting 10,000 TPS with sub-second finality. Mainnet goes live tomorrow, November 24, and the anticipation is real.

The token itself is a different story. $MON has a 100 billion total supply but only about 10.8% is circulating at launch. Around 7.5% came from the oversubscribed $269M public sale and 3.33% went to the airdrop. The airdrop sent 4.73 billion tokens to 289,000 wallets, but a lot of early community members and testnet farmers were left out, while bigger DeFi and NFT wallets, KOLs, and general crypto users got in. That tension even sparked the #MonadScam trend on X and left a lot of early supporters frustrated.

Pre-market, prices are around $0.049–$0.05, and the main question is whether there will be a sharp post-launch drop because of high FDV and unlocked supply. Excitement for the tech is there, but sentiment around the token itself is still shaky.

Somewhere in the middle of this, bitget announced the listing. It didn’t change the mood, but it added another layer to watch. Makes me wonder how people are going to approach $MON when everything finally goes live tomorrow.
