SK Planet to purchase MOCA Coin and adopt Moca Network’s decentralized identity infrastructure for 28M users

South Korea’s SK Planet (part of SK Group, the country’s second-largest listed company) just announced that it’s purchasing MOCA Coin ($MOCA) on the open market. The move will allow SK Planet to join Moca Network’s decentralized identity ecosystem, a project by Animoca Brands aiming to build the world’s largest chain-agnostic decentralized ID network.

This integration will bring zero-knowledge proof technology and decentralized identity verification to SK Planet’s 28 million users and 95,000 merchant partners, giving users control over how their data is shared and verified. The system will use Moca Network’s AIR Account and AIR Identity, which let businesses verify user data with explicit consent while keeping data ownership in the user’s hands.

SK Planet’s Chief Business Officer, Kyosu Kim, said the collaboration will expand their OKI Club rewards program and let users earn MOCA Coin while maintaining privacy and ownership of their personal data.
