Many companies are refusing to provide guidance for future earnings. Without guidance it will be much harder to know if the next earnings release is good or bad. Hedge funds and large players will have a decent idea and we can always compare to past earnings but retail will likely have a broad range of opinions on what earnings are good or bad.
