An under the radar American success story.
Greenberg founded LA Gear in the 80's. LA Gear was a hot, popular brand that ultimately got snuffed out by the bigger players: Nike, Reebok, Adidas.
Greenberg perservered and founded Skechers. The brand was mocked for awhile. Maybe even "nerdy"; however, I would argue that the brand is now officially *cool*.
The company a success. Buyout on the table. I wouldnt be surprised if another buyer came in and the bid jumped another 20 to 30%. Why? Brand has never been cooler, international appeal, they sell 185$ basketball shoes, great balance sheet.
