If you haven't watched the interview with the FDAs new commissioner Marty Makary I highly recommend it. In short, he wants the American healthcare system to focus on cures and more importantly wants potential cures for rare diseases to be brought to market quicker. Stating that no only is it a better outcome for the patient but it could save billions in subscription drugs.

During the interview he states very specifically that he wants to let the patient chose whether they wish to try a "NEW" potential cure and then monitor each patient. This dramatically speeds up time to market for candidates with promising results. Later, he portrays the idea of scraping phase 3 for such drugs.
This is where Intellia comes into the mix.
With 3 phase 3 drugs in the pipeline, with best in class results, the bear case has always been "it will take too long to bring to market". Thereby, people are worried about the cash burn and dilution over the next 2-3 years.
Following this interview Genomic stocks popped aggressively, with NTLA currently up 30% from lows. However, with a market cap of just $848m and project revenues of $4.8bn to $20bn it's a steal and a name that's now in play. Meaning, once the General market is made aware of this we're likely going see huge moves in the sector with $NTLA primed for such developments.
