Dumb teen question alert: If most biotech companies with 'revolutionary' ideas tend to fail, would an tactic of short selling work?

Lately, I’ve seen that most biotech companies 'fail' and drop in price drastically within a few days. Would a tactic of short-selling the majority of these companies work, or is it just Russian roulette? (not an ragebait question, just an dumb one.)
