The market is up 90% in the past five years

That’s well above the 10% annual return average.

Why is everyone on here acting like the world is ending… when everyone’s 401Ks are still well above the average annual return on stocks when looking at the past five years?

Everyone with half a brain cell knew the market was on a ridiculous runup and was due for a healthy pullback. Now, 90% of the posts are freaking out about Trump… when the market is still up 90% over the past five years. Not to mention - it was at ATH when he took office in January. If you hated the evil Orange Man, you could have taken some healthy market gains and increased your cash position. Yet here we are.

I’m hoping the stock Reddit can go back to what it used to be, with healthy discussions about stock picks and market outlook. It’s fine to freak out about Trumps moves, but past a certain point, it just becomes “let’s talk shit about the bad Orange Man and stop discussing stocks” which is where we’re at.
