I see a common theme in recent threads -- Who else is pushing these tariffs?

One theory is "A User's Guide to Restructuring the Global Trading System" by Stephen Miran.

The end goal of this paper is to devalue the dollar by having other countries pin their currency to the USD at an appreciated rate.

Countries that are "favored" and agree to this "Mar A Lago Accord" will be granted relief from tariffs and continued access to the USD system. And bonus: continued military security guarantees from USA.
