Why selling amidst tariffs may be a bad idea.

First of all, I'm a zoomer who has just started learning about investing in general, so if my thoughts are incorrect feel free to say it.

I think, it's unlikely that prices of shares fall more. Not because the economy isn't fucked, or US companies won't have massive losses due to tariffs, but because there's also going to be a lot of inflation. When selling, you aren't only selling a piece of a company, you are also "buying" US dollars. If prices increase, the value of those dollars is going to fall, maybe even faster than the value of companies. If the economy becomes more asset based, isn't it better to own a piece of a company than cash?
