A question to everyone who was in the 2022 long bear market. I wonder were sentiments in 2022 similar to today's?

Curious cuz I just get into stock market for only about half a year. Nowadays ppl afraid new lows of spy & DJI everyday, many says this is the bigining of a bigger crush, and vix is higher than 2022 all time. Is the sentiments in 2022 worse than today's. Are ppl being crazy about the daily dropping like now?

My thinking is today's ecnonomy and inflation is better than 2022, we should comapare to 2018 not 2022.
