This is completely self-inflicted and largely immediately reversible. With a few words, one man could literally reverse the trillions of dollars worth of financial harm he is causing. But he won’t, because he is a malignant narcissist. His own party could reverse the suffering that he is causing with a single piece of legislation. But they won’t, because they are spineless sycophants. So here we are, charting a course that is most certainly going doom millions of people for no compelling reason other than indulging the delusions of a mad man.
