So imma complete stock market rookie myself, so sorry if this is a dumb question. But if you look historically at the stock market, yes there were ups and downs of course and there was definitely some large ones. But *in general* this crazy volatility that we see in the modern day market these days seems to really be a new type of crazy movement. Why is it that these days the stock market makes such drastic moves so quickly when compared to its more tame past. For example between 2010 or 2020 there was market fluctuations, but nothing at all so drastic like we have now. For example in 2020, 2022 or now in 2025. The market seems to have become very volatile and investors have become in a sense almost crazy. Is there a cause for this? Or am I just crazy?
