From what I know, this blanket tariff on everyone is supposed to be the opening move.
They want sweet deals from others so that they can reduce the tariff. The real goal is to cause global recession to lower rates so that we can save trillion on interest payments every year.
Second goal of theirs is to send USD lower so that exports becomes cheaper and imports become expensive (similar to 1985 plaza accord).
Third goal is to force companies to promise to build more in USA, which is already started happening to some extent.
I do not think, tariffs the way they are can stay for even 6 months since the stagflation will be brutal just like 70s.
I am guessing Trump would love for countries to buy American stuff like Bourbon, agri products, right?
Other than that I don't know what we can sell to the world that they do not already have?
I think we can sell a lot more of Boeing planes, unfortunately their reputation went down the drain with all the accidents the past 4-5 years.
