American tech companies have enjoyed (and will continue to enjoy) something resembling a world monopoly. Insane share evaluations with P/E ratios in the hundreds have become commonplace because there is very good 👍 rational for them. American products still dominate developing markets, and for a very long time we have been able to expect that type of growth from our growth stocks.
This will not be the case forever. We cannot ceaselessly expand our population on this planet, or else we will certainly “overload” it. In either case, we can’t expect past performances from our stocks forever.
There’s also threats of WW3 still hanging in the air, other developing markets to consider, the cost of our technology on society and the planet, and I won’t go on.
In conclusion, there’s a big circle jerk going on in Wall Street with your retirement money, but they’re coming to terms with these realities as well. How quickly they decide to unwind their own circle jerk will determine how much pain we feel. I’d get out of anything with a P/E over 30, particularly the enormous companies that are losing business fast.
