Is there any point in investing in ANY specific stocks when everything just seems to crash due to the wider market now....

It just sucks when all company fundamentals gets completely flung out the window just because the market as a whole crashes.

Did this also happen during the 2008 recession? Even companies with potential huge growth just get their stocks plummeting? Or were there any certain company stock that managed to withstand a market crash and even go opposite against the market?
