Eutelsat, investors bet on OneWeb satellites as European option to Starlink
[Old news from last week and the stock has gone up almost 500% after this news.](https://www.reuters.com/technology/space/eutelsat-committed-boosting-europes-satellite-autonomy-continued-support-ukraine-2025-03-03/)
But reports are coming that Ukraine is making the transition to Eutelsat;
*The Armed Forces of Ukraine began the transition to Eutelsat Konnect VHTS One Web.*
*Speed up to 195 Mbps*
*Ping 70 ms. The full transition will take a month. After that, all contracts with the starlink will be broken.*
Italy is also not happy and may abandon its largest contract for Starlink satellite communications services.
The €1.5 billion deal is increasingly raising questions in Giorgia Meloni's government. Italian officials believe that they should no longer rely on American companies and billionaire Elon Musk, who is close to the US leadership, for security.

It's going to be a volatile stock in coming weeks.
Fundamentel weren't strong before all this. That's why the stock was so cheap. But only 1,5 years ago the stock was still paying €1 dividends.
[Goldman responce to this:](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/goldman-says-sell-rating-eutelsat-160316956.html)
*"We materially underestimated the upside risk from government support," Goldman Sachs wrote, noting that European governments' stance on defence and satellite funding has shifted at a scale and speed that far exceeded expectations.*
*Goldman has raised its 12-month price target to €6.7 from €1.0, though this still implies 3% downside from the last closing price. The firm expects continued share price volatility until there is greater clarity on government contract formations with Eutelsat.*
As a lot of the times analyst respond after the stockprice have already gone up. But interesting none the less.
Good chance they will adjust the price target in the future depending on what the stock price will do.
