Intel to spin off their fabs in the US into a separate JV with TSMC. TSMC provides the staff and technical expertise to manufacture advanced 3 nanometer and 2 nanometer chips in the U.S., supported by federal subsidies from the CHIPS Act.
The move allows TSMC to get substantial relief from tariffs, while continuing to serve the US markets, while Intel, via the joint venture gets access to cutting edge technical expetise in data center and AI products.
